The Internets Celebrities are three guys from New York, who like to hang out in Brooklyn, shoot videos, and are now famous for discovering the Bodega food pyramid. Whether they're interviewing the Tron Guy or describing the industrial food complex, the Internets Celebrities manage to weave inconceivably large issues into a comic brewhaha. I'm not sure what that means, nor what the Internets Celebrities always mean but that doesn't matter. These guys make me ROTFWL.

In an interview with Brian Lehrer, titled Ghetto Economics with Internets Celebrities, they explain the motivations behind their projects but they also express their simple passion to make people laugh. They want to enlighten people but through satire.

In the video Checkmate, the two IC stars, Dallas Penn and Rafi Kam, explore the miraculous workings of check cashing. Dallas and Rafi walk through check cashing joints, talk to people, and discuss the cycle of debt that many Americans find themselves in. As Dallas points out,

The poorest households in America, they only earned ten thousand dollars this year, but they're spending nearly twice that. Debt is the new money.

But of course we all know that many Americans are spending beyond their means. Like Rafi says

One thing I've learned about being in debt is that if I die today ... I win.

So don't get to worked up about debt, poverty, or the subsidized US corn industry. Just make sure you eat something from each of the basic Bodega food groups everyday and you'll live a happy life. Anyway, if you like the Internets Celebrities sense of humour or politics I'd check out internetscelebrities.com.
